Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato Diamond Multimedia ha ufficialmente annunciato la commercializzazione della scheda grafica Diamond Viper - ATI Radeon HD 3870 PCIE 1024MB GDDR3, basata sulla gpu a 55nm ATI Radeon HD 3870 e configurata dal produttore per operare in regime di overclock (la frequenza di clock del core del processore grafico è pari a 825MHz, ndr) stabilizzato dalla presenza di un generoso dissipatore.

In accordo alla denominazione scelta da Diamond, la nuova Viper è una card dual-slot, compliant con l'interfaccia PCI-Express 2.0 ed equipaggiata con 1Gb di RAM G-DDR3 operante a 2x900MHz. Dal punto di vista della compatibilità con i game, la scheda supporta in hardware le librerie grafiche Microsoft DirectX 10.1. Inoltre, forte della tecnologia ATI Avivo, assicura ottime performance in Full High Definition (1080p) dove un decoder dedicato garantisce l'esecuzione dei filmati presenti sui dischi Blu-ray e HD DVD senza alcun sovraccarico per il processore centrale.
