Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver è un software sviluppato da Intel e finalizzato alla configurazione ottimale in ambiente Windows delle piattaforme Intel dotate di supporto per la tecnologia RAID (0, 1, 5 e 10) e/o della tecnologia di memoria Intel Optane, ed è inoltre compatibile con le periferiche NVMe.
Questa release di Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver supporta i Sistemi Operativi Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 e Windows Server 2016 (edizioni a 32-bit e a 64-bit), e le piattaforme hardware Intel 200 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI/RAID, 7th Generation Intel Core Processor Family Platform I/O SATA AHCI/RAID, Intel 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI/RAID e 6th Generation Intel Core Processor Family Platform I/O SATA AHCI/RAID.
Inoltre, per l'utilizzo della tecnologia Optane è necessario disporre di una tra le seguenti piattaforme: Intel 200 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI/RAID Controller - Q270, Z270, H270, Q250, B250, 7th generation Intel Core Processor Family Platform I/O SATA AHCI/RAID Controller- Premium U e Intel 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI/RAID Controller - HM175, QM175, CM238.
