Benna, a member of the italian board, made Quake 3 Arena work on a 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 pci and Windows XP 64bit edition.
This result has been reached thanks to SFFT alpha43 driver and ThunderGL wrapper.
SFFT alpha43 is the only driver for 3dfx voodoos able to run on 64bit operating systems, at this moment this driver lacks of OpenGL support; this lack is filled by ThunderGL, which includes an experimental OpenGL to Direct3D wrapper.
Benna, un membro del forum italiano, è riuscito a far funzionare Quake 3 Arena su una 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 pci e Windows XP 64bit edition.
Questo risultato è stato ottenuto grazie al driver SFFT alpha43 e al wrapper ThunderGL.
SFFT alpha43 è l'unico driver per 3dfx voodoo in grado di funzionare su sistemi operativi a 64bit, fino ad ora nel driver manca il supporto OpenGL; questa mancanza è colmata da ThunderGL, che include un wrapper OpenGL to Direct3D sperimentale.
